At Home Facial

Do you practice it?

When it comes to selfcare and skin care most of us probably already own a variety of #shelfie products. Why not create your own at-home-beauty and treat yourself to a home facial.

Here are some steps to create you very own at home facial with products you already have!

  1. DOUBLE CLEANSE. This means first go in with an oil-based cleanser to melt away makeup and remove unwanted dead skin cells. Using an oil-based cleanser will make sure we still keep the lipid barrier intact. Then go in with a foam or gel cleanser. Focus on areas of oil and congestion while massaging gently.
  2. EXFOLIATE. After cleansing we want to make sure we slough off the top layer of skin cells and excess oils in order to prep our skin for the next ingredients to penetrate and get the most out of our next steps. We recommend a gentle face scrub or a liquid formula that contains a blend of chemical exfoliants.
  3. MASK. Choose a face mask of your choice accordingly to how your skin in feeling. If it’s oily and prone to breakouts reach for a clay-based mask or if your skin is feeling a little dull choose a rich in hydration and hyaluronic acid.
  4. STEAM. While masking, fill a bowl with hot water and place your face over the bowl with a towel over your head to open up your pores and let your mask sink in.

5.MOISTURIZE AND MASSAGE. Remove face mask and layer your skin with your go-to serums and moisturizers. Also work your way from thinnest to thickest of hydrating products. You can finish it off with a great massage with our Beauty Tools to increase the level of massaging, and product absorbance.

Light up some candles, play your favourite music or audiobook and relax.
